Emergency Response: Yes - Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE's emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.

Job Summary
    Responsible for administration of assigned complex billing programs and projects. Provides assistance and support to other business units and management as needed. Responds to escalated contacts from both internal and external customers. Responsible for successfully completing special projects as assigned.
Key Accountabilities
  • Establishes complex billing customer accounts in CIS (SAP) and performs or oversees complex billing
  • Analyzes, reconciles and rebills complicated high profile / high revenue impact accounts
  • Acts as representative for projects related to multi-operational areas, including, but not limited to defining needed system requirements, testing new system functionality or enhancements, and analyzing and documenting system problems and defects
  • Leads teams, facilitates discussions and makes presentations to all levels of management and external customers
  • Identifies system problems, initiates queries to produce reports needed to identify the financial impact on billing revenues
  • Develops and maintains metrics and reporting for special projects and for business unit processes
  • Provides internal consultation and support to employees and management and answers technical questions from internal/external customers
  • Uses analytical skills to identify business and system problems, gathers information, consults, designs, recommends and implements solutions in area of responsibility.
  • Provides expertise in identifying and resolving problem situations and provides assistance to employees with CIS (SAP) operational procedures
  • Collects, reviews, inputs, verifies, and maintains accurate financial records and transactions performs auditing of customer accounts
  • May provide work direction to others, assists with training new employees and customers as needed
  • Initiates problem solving sessions between cross-functional areas to resolve complex problems
  • Uses continuous improvement tools to identify defects and improve processes
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • This is a dualtrack base requirement job; education & experience requirements can be satisfied through either of the following three options:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business (or a business-related discipline), and three years relevant experience (i.e complex billing, system functionality)
    • Associate's degree in Business (or a business-related discipline), and four years relevant experience (i.e complex billing, system functionality)
    • High School diploma or equivalent and five years relevant experience (i.e complex billing, system functionality)

  • Advanced analytical and project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including individuals at all levels, inside and outside the company.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Visio, Word, PowerPoint, as well as Customer Information systems; advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Working knowledge of revenue processes and accounting
  • Working knowledge of customer related policies, billing practices and procedures
  • Ability to travel & report for work at different locations (typically within the Corporation's service area)
