Job description

DTE is building step-change technology for one of the world's largest industrial sectors: metals production.
We are now scaling from individual deployments to plant-wide solutions with leading aluminum producers globally. To support this next phase, we are looking for a Device & Field Service Specialist who wants to work on hard, real-world industrial technology and help shape the future of metals production. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and demonstrates strong judgment regarding quality, reliability, and safety.
The Device & Field Service Specialist is part of DTE's Service, Production, and Delivery team and is based in the United States. The role is responsible for installing, commissioning, and servicing DTE solutions at customer sites across the country and requires approximately 50% travel to support customer operations and deployments.
Working closely with customers during solution start-up and service visits, the Device & Field Service Specialist configures devices to meet operational requirements, provides on-call and on-site technical support, and serves as a key point of contact throughout installation and maintenance activities.
DTE currently supports customers across the United States, including Tennessee, New York, Washington, Virginia, and Texas. Candidate must be based within driving distance of a major airport to serve current clients in those states.
The ideal candidate is technically strong and able to work proactively and independently. The work is technically demanding, involving servicing equipment that operates in harsh industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, unpack, install, and set up devices at customers' sites.
  • Install and commission DTE solutions and engineering devices, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
  • Support DTE Engineering during prototype deployments at customer sites and provide feedback to improve future designs, functionality, and reliability.
  • Service, maintain, and repair installed solutions to ensure reliable operation and maximize value for DTE customers.
  • Implement the solution and train customer operators in using it.
  • Give feedback to Product and Engineering for continuous improvements.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
  • B.Sc. in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in assembly, field service, or technical support roles involving electronic equipment.
  • An Electrician certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with device programming, control logic, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and a practical problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work hands-on with prototypes, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvement.
  • Strong focus on safety, reliability, and quality.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% within the United States.
  • Excellent English communication skills. Other languages are a plus.

Why DTE
DTE is not building another incremental industrial tool. We are solving a fundamental blind spot in one of the world's largest industries: metals producers cannot optimize what they cannot measure in real time.
Our technology creates the foundation for real-time process control, industrial AI, higher recycling rates, lower emissions, and eventually autonomous metals manufacturing. As DTE enters a major scale-up phase, employees joining now will have a direct influence on the product, technology platform, and future direction of the industry.
DTE's core values are purpose, excellence, and empowerment. We are looking for people who are driven, resilient, ambitious, and motivated by building technology with real industrial impact.
The application deadline is the 20th of July 2026.
We encourage people of all genders to apply and look forward to receiving your application.
DTE is committed to being an inclusive workplace. We aim to create an environment where employees feel empowered, supported, and able to do their best work.
