The Master of Social Work Department at Morgan State University invites applications for a tenure or tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor with a primary focus on behavioral health, specifically substance use disorders and opioid use disorder. This appointment reflects the department's strategic commitment to strengthening behavioral health education, scholarship, and community impact in urban and historically underserved communities.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative and student-centered MSW Department that emphasizes anti-oppressive practice, trauma-informed pedagogy, and community-engaged scholarship. Teaching
Teach graduate-level MSW courses related to behavioral health, including but not limited to:
Substance Use Disorders and Co-Occurring Disorders
Behavioral Health Assessment and Intervention
Trauma-Informed, Recovery-Oriented, and Harm Reduction Approaches
Integrated Behavioral Health Practice
Advanced Practice or Policy electives aligned with SUD and OUD
Contribute to curriculum development and ongoing program assessment
Advise and mentor MSW students in academic and professional development

Research and Scholarship
Maintain an active research agenda focused on behavioral health, SUD, OUD, or related areas
Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences
Pursue external funding to support research and programmatic initiatives
Engage in interdisciplinary and community-based research collaborations aligned with the MSW Department's mission
Service
