Job description

As a Product Manager - FPGA, Mixed Signal RF & DSP, you will lead the strategy, definition, and lifecycle management of Abaco's portfolio of RF, DSP, and FPGA based COTS solutions. This role is intended for a product leader with a strong background in the design and analysis of real world RF and mixed signal systems, who applies deep systems understanding to product strategy, roadmap definition, and technical differentiation. Working closely with engineering, sales, and program teams, you will translate system level requirements and tradeoffs into compelling, market leading products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Owns and maintains the product strategy for RF/DSP and FPGA solutions within the overall Abaco Systems product system
  • Leads the financial performance of the product lines with accountability for revenue, costs, and profitability.
  • Develops long-range roadmaps aligned to industry trends and customer need.
  • Conducts competitive analysis across relevant form factors.
  • Authors business cases and requirements for new products.
  • Leads kickoff process for new NPD launches.
  • Oversees performance of the multi-product portfolio.
  • Interfaces with customers, sales, and partners.
  • Supports secure customer engagements.
  • Provides technical presentations, marketing, and collateral and training.
  • Partners with engineering, operations, and leadership.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, from an accredited college or university (Masters preferred).
  • 7+ years in RF, DSP, FPGA, or embedded defense markets.
  • Product management or technical leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in FPGA architectures, RF system design and performance, and Digital Signal Processing, with experience evaluating system level tradeoffs and constraints across the signal chain, from RF front end through data conversion and digital processing.
  • Experience in managing relationships with customers and suppliers and interfacing with leadership within the company.
  • Ability to build and justify multi-year business cases to the Abaco leadership team.
  • Ability to capture and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Product concept definition and orchestrate NPI launches.
  • Has translated RF and DSP theory into real hardware or FPGA implementations and understands where practical systems diverge from ideal models.
  • Demonstrated xperience with embedded electronics and/or software.
  • Familiarity writing requirements with Military Standards.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers.
  • Ability to create positive outcomes in an influential leadership position without direct reports.
  • Strong oral, written, interpersonal, and customer communication skills.
  • Self-starter, inclusive, highly motivated individual.
