We have an opening for a Drywall Foreman. The General Carpenter Foreman will supervise and manage a team of carpenters and laborers for performing various work tasks independently.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Worrks on-site employees and assist when necessary.
  • Must acquire general knowledge of all project specific plans and specifications.
  • Ability to use variety of construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily task such as:
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues or hazards
    • Confirm work meets specifications and quality standards
    • Assist with Drywall hanging, drywall finishing, and acoustic ceiling installation
    • Read blueprints and perform layout
  • Provide coordinated management of onsite stored materials to avoid obstructions to Subcontractors’ progress and the project’s overall completion schedule.
  • Receive materials on job sites and direct their organized storage.
  • Open and close job sites to all workers as directed by Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
  • Use company provided technology for writing work orders, filing expense reports, logging crew time, reading/marking up drawings, and material ordering.
  • Determine quantity and type of materials, equipment and tools required to perform work as directed by Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
  • Enforce all required Hourigan on-site Safety procedures.
  • Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending, and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within your capability and control and the help of safety staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Basic understanding of commercial construction means and methods and industry practices.
  • 5+ years of industry experience and experience managing a team.
  • Proficiency to communicate in both Spanish and English is strongly preferred
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings and evenings, to meet project needs
  • Work may be performed in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Frequent physical activity includes standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional activity includes sitting and using a computer or viewing a computer screen.
  • Must be willing to travel for day work to different markets.
  • Must be able to transport your own personal/company provided tools
  • Must be able to provide, operate, and maintain construction tools in a safe and proper manner.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
  • Willingness to gain experience with construction management software, specifically Procore and Bluebeam
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
