JOB DESCRIPTION:

Senior Estimator

Description:

Reporting to the Director of Estimating, the Senior Estimator leads a team of estimators performing quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for drywall over wood framing on Single-family homes, tract developments, and townhomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with PJD’s standard estimating operating procedures.
  • Assign projects to junior estimators for quantity takeoff.
  • Provide support and guidance for junior estimators during the takeoff phase.
  • Review quantity takeoffs for accuracy and develop comprehensive project cost estimates using PJD job cost master excel sheets.
  • Create and maintain a system for reviewing the work product of junior estimators ensuring on-time bid submissions.
  • Prepare a proposal, bid sheet, SOW, and other required documentation to submit.
  • Answer customer questions and articulate scope of work, including making necessary adjustments based on post bid requests.
  • Provide VE assistance to customers.
  • Communicate needs/concerns/suggestions to Director of Estimating.
  • Provide support during the handoff of contracted projects to the accounting team, purchasing and stocking team, and the field team.
  • Maintain support and updates for ongoing projects including material updates, labor adjustments, field adjustments, model changes, and other typical project lifecycle changes.
