Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time. On-call work may also be required based on operational needs.

Compensation: $28.00/hourly

Tessera is seeking a versatile and dependable General Maintenance Worker to support a wide range of facility upkeep and repair tasks at USAFA. This role involves performing skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled maintenance duties across plumbing, electrical, structural, and mechanical systems, while ensuring safety, quality, and operational readiness.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping as part of routine maintenance activities.
  • Assistin preventive maintenance of barriers, gates, doors, pools, fountains,HVAC,and carpentry systems.
  • Patch walls and ceilings using plaster or compound; paint structures and equipmentif needed.
  • Repair or replace sinks, toilets, water coolers, paneling, floor tiles, doors, locks, andwindow panes.
  • Conduct concrete repairs on floors, steps, sidewalks, decks, and stoops.
  • Replace filters, clean coils, and perform maintenance on belts, pumps, motors, and mechanical rooms.
  • Support lead/mold remediation and change batteries in locks and smoke detectors.
  • Perform skilled tasks such as ceiling grid installation, storefront repair, and AV equipment mounting.
  • Carry out semi-skilled tasks including touch-up painting, caulking, and basic electrical and plumbing fixture replacement.
  • Assistcraftsmen with tools, materials, and labor support for skilled trade work.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and document work status and completion timelinesusing Maximo.
  • Use mobile devices for timekeeping, data entry, and work order managementvia Maximo.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned tools and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance and conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of general maintenance experience preferred
  • Familiarity with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in varied environments
  • Strong attention to detail, safety, and teamwork

Physical Requirements:
