Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician
Columbus, MS

Ideal Candidate:
  • Requires at least two years of experience in the responsibilities listed below, which may include:
  • Driving to the job site.
  • Inspecting trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
  • Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.
  • Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
  • Repairing damaged equipment parts.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy construction equipment and vehicles.
  • Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.
  • Performing major repair work when necessary.
  • Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.
  • Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to Fleet Manager.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
  • Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
  • Attention to detail and alert always to ensure safety
  • Able to receive and follow instructions
  • Communicates well with co-workers
  • High school diploma is an asset
  • Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
  • Previous experience, especially in the heavy equipment or maintenance industry, preferred
  • CDL Class A with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements preferred

  • Background Screening
  • MVR Screening
  • DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse Query (if applicable)
