Job description

DIHO Consulting USA LLC is seeking qualified applicants for Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician opportunities in Geismar, LA. This position is responsible for performing field testing of construction materials, including soils, concrete, asphalt, and pile monitoring, to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Candidates with ACI, NICET, TxDOT, or related Construction Materials Testing certifications are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field and testing of construction materials, including soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials.
  • Conduct concrete testing, including slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and casting cylinders for compressive strength testing.
  • Perform soil compaction testing using sand cone or nuclear density gauge.
  • Complete Proctor testing, Atterberg limits, sieve analysis, and other soil classification tests, as applicable.
  • Perform asphalt density testing and pavement core sampling.
  • Monitor pile installation to document capacity, penetration, and blow counts.
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and detailed field and laboratory reports.
  • Operate company or personal vehicle safely and follow all corporate safety procedures at all times.
  • Follow company procedures, protocols, and project requirements.
  • Communicate daily with dispatch, management, technical staff, and onsite clients.
  • Relay jobsite updates, issues, and project information to management in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Arrive on time to assigned job sites each day and complete assigned testing responsibilities professionally.
  • Support technical team members and share information across the organization as needed.

Must-Haves

  • Minimum of 3+ years of Construction Materials Testing experience preferred.
  • Experience with soils, concrete, asphalt, and field testing procedures.
  • ACI, NICET, TxDOT, or related certifications preferred.
  • Dependable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a DISA drug screen.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Clean driving record.
  • TWIC card preferred.
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and testing equipment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Able to maintain an on-call type schedule.
  • Willing to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, overtime, or irregular hours as project needs require.
