Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performance of a wide range of laboratory testing and

testing interpretation. Additionally, the position requires the ability to take assigned responsibility for quality

control, instrument maintenance, instrument and department related special studies, regulatory

compliance, inventory management, and providing training and delegated competency assessment for

assigned staff. The position requires moderate use of independent judgement, critical thinking and

interpretation, and a high degree of accuracy. The Medical Laboratory Scientist has a broad educational

knowledge of laboratory theory and concepts.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree is Medical Laboratory Science or military training as outlinedwithin the latest version of

CLIA regulations

Must obtain National Certification by ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent within 6 months
