Description
Do you measure twice and cut once - every single time, no exceptions? Does a clean, square, perfectly fastened install give you a quiet sense of pride that a shortcut never could? Are you the person who catches the fit issue before it reaches the next station? Do you do your best work when you can focus, follow the print, and bring the same high standard to every module that rolls through? Would you rather master your craft and be the bench everyone trusts than chase the next title?
If this sounds like you, then we need to talk...
Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is looking for an Interior Installer to join our team. The Interior Installer prepares, installs, and finishes the interior components of our EMS modules - the cabinetry, walls, control panels, and customer-selected options that first responders depend on every day. It's hands-on, detail-driven work where craftsmanship matters and getting it right the first time is the standard.
What Does a Week in the Life of the Interior Installer Look Like?
- Reviews the prints and instructions on each work order before touching a single part, confirming everything matches.
- Verifies parts and hardware are on hand, then chases down anything missing so production never stalls.
- Rotates across Cladding, Action Wall, Furnish, and Options - measuring, cutting, and installing to exact spec.
- Installs stainless-steel cladding, aluminum cabinetry, control panels, and customer options per blueprint.
- Seals, fastens, and finishes with RTV silicone and the right tool for the job, every time.
- Inspects completed work against the print before sign-off, catching and correcting issues before QC ever sees them.
- Keeps a clean, 6S-organized station and returns every tool to its home.
- At higher levels, troubleshoots tricky fit and BOM issues at the bench and coaches newer installers on technique.
Required Education and Experience:
- Experience scales by level - from will-train Level I (basic mechanical aptitude and safe tool use) up through Level IV (5-7 years and recognized bench expertise).
- Ability to pass Frazer's installation assessment at the level being hired into.
- Comfortable reading work orders and installation prints; at higher levels, blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Able to stand, climb, crouch, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 2+ years of mechanical or assembly experience in a production environment.
- Experience with specialty-vehicle interiors, custom cabinetry, modular furniture, or ambulance/mobile-healthcare upfit.
- Familiarity with spray guns, sealing, and finishing techniques, plus 6S / Lean.
Skills (to Pay the Bills)
Here's a list of a few competencies that the Interior Installer at Frazer should have...
- You take real pride in your craft - a clean, square, perfectly finished install is its own reward.
- You're precise to the core, measuring and confirming before you cut so waste and rework stay near zero.
- You catch your own mistakes before anyone else does, and you fix them without being told.
- You stay focused and follow the process, bringing the same high standard to every module.
- You're handy with power, air, and hand tools and you treat your equipment like it's your own.
- You can move between work centers without missing a beat or dropping your quality.
