Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting complex products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate inspection, documentation, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspection - Accurately inspects manufactured or other process output against documented specifications per the drawing, Control Plan, inspection procedures and other site quality control documentation. Performs detailed first article inspections and capability studies. Read and interprets engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T symbols, specifications, and inspection plans. Identify nonconforming products and initiate nonconformance reports (NCR's).
  2. Measurement Equipment - Uses precision measuring instruments including among others calipers, micrometers, height gage, test & dial indicator, coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Maintains proper use and care of measurement equipment; ensures equipment calibration is current per the Calibration Schedule before use.
  3. Documentation - Maintains current and appropriate inspection documentation in product files. Documents all discrepancies between the product and the written specifications per procedures. Records all inspection results electronically. Follows site containment procedures. Verifies current revision history of documentation prior to use.
  4. Audit - Participates in audit functions (product, process, and QMS / ISO –AS 9100) ensuring quality systems and products are consistent with internal documentation, standards, and customer requirements.
  5. Collaborate with machinists, programmers, engineers, and production personnel to resolve quality issues.
  6. Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  7. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical training in blueprint reading, Inspection.
  • 2-5 years’ experience as an inspector in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Full understanding of GD&T and basic understanding of statistics is required.
    Skilled using a variety of measurement equipment including calipers, pin gage set, height gage, test indicator, micrometer, pitch micrometer, dial indicator, surface plate, optical comparator, laser, smart scope, and coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
  • Able to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic production environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written communication skills necessary. Must be adaptable and able to work with regular interruptions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience using and ERP system.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
