Job description

WHO WE ARE:

How will transportation and mobility evolve? What will the vehicle of the future look like – and how will those vehicles be repaired? How can the next chapter of your career contribute to solving these transportation challenges and more?

NexaMotion Group (NMG) is on a mission to simplify complex vehicle repair to keep the world moving.

We are a leading automotive parts distributor represented across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada, and through patent-winning software and technology, we are revolutionizing our industry.

What has remained constant throughout our 50-year history of transformation is our dedication to our customers, our team members, and to the values on which NMG was founded: Commitment, Humility, Optimism, Integrity, and Respect.

A career with NMG offers the opportunity to make an impact within a rapidly growing organization – the chance to learn, lead, collaborate, and connect with other solutions-oriented, forward-thinking professionals. We invest meaningfully in training and development, empowering you to build your future alongside ours and shape a career unique to your talents, interest, and purpose.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

At the heart of NMG's digital transformation, the Transend team builds the software engineering, data, and AI foundation powering the future of automotive parts distribution. Our flagship product is a modern B2B eCommerce platform that simplifies complex vehicle repair by helping professionals quickly find and order the right parts. We are an agile, fast-growing team of innovators reimagining how technology drives the aftermarket forward.

The Director, Software Product Development, is a senior, execution-oriented software engineering leader responsible for defining and delivering against Transend's software engineering product roadmap. This role is the voice of the customer inside the organization — translating shop workflows, parts-finding friction, and B2B buyer behavior into products and features that drive adoption, retention, and revenue. Working closely with Engineering, AI, and Customer Experience (CX), the Director, Software Product Development ensures Transend consistently ships high-quality, high-impact experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the product roadmap for defined areas of the Transend platform — catalog, search, ordering, integrations, or buyer experience
  • Define and prioritize features based on customer insight, data, competitive intelligence, and business impact
  • Translate complex automotive domain requirements (fitment, ACES data, B2B workflows) into clear, executable product specs
  • Contribute to the broader Transend software engineering product strategy in partnership with the President and peer leaders

Customer & Market Insight

  • Maintain deep, direct relationships with shop customers — general repair (GR) and transmission — to continuously surface unmet needs
  • Conduct discovery, usability research, and feedback loops to validate assumptions before and after shipping
  • Stay current on SMS integrations, catalog standards, and competitive dynamics in the automotive aftermarket

Cross-Functional Execution

  • Partner with Software Engineering and AI to scope, sequence, and ship product with quality and velocity
  • Collaborate with CX and sales leaders on go-to-market readiness, feature enablement, and customer onboarding
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders through clear requirements, sprint reviews, and transparent roadmap communication

Analytics & Outcomes

  • Define success metrics for every initiative; use FullStory, product analytics, and customer data to measure impact
  • Identify catalog gaps, search failures, and funnel drop-off and translate findings into prioritized product work
  • Build a culture of data-informed decision-making within the software engineering product team

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of PMs; create clarity, accountability, and growth opportunities
  • Recruit top product talent; contribute to defining PM career development frameworks for Transend

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of software engineering product management experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead PM role
  • Demonstrated track record of shipping B2B or marketplace products at meaningful scale
  • Strong command of product discovery, agile delivery, and data-driven prioritization
  • Experience in eCommerce, marketplace, or catalog-driven products strongly preferred
  • Automotive aftermarket, parts, or adjacent industry experience is a plus — but curiosity and speed of learning matter more
  • Exceptional communicator; comfortable presenting to leadership and engaging directly with customers
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred
