Job description

POSITION: The Drop In Center Worker is responsible for the safe supportive operation of the Sharon and/or Greenville Drop-In Center Site and the development of empowerment and leadership skills in mental health consumers. Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, Act 33 and 34 Clearances required. Must maintain a current driver's license, good driving record and vehicle insurance. QUALIFICATIONS: A mental health consumer who has participated in a leadership role as evidenced by: attending local Mental Health /Intellectual Development planning meetings, other advisory boards, or Community Support Program regional meetings. Must be fully engaged in their own recovery and serve as a role model for attendees. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in a weekly member meeting to get feedback and suggestions regarding programming. Open and close Drop-In Center insuring the site is clean and secured. Maintain building and grounds to ensure cleanliness and request maintenance when repairs are needed. Attend monthly regional Community Support Program meetings. Schedule activities for monthly calendar and make all necessary contacts to obtain tickets, transportation, and arrangements with other drop in centers to provide these activities. Meets weekly with coordinator to discuss problems, paperwork, and other issues regarding the Drop In Center operations. Turns in completed sign in sheets to appropriate personnel weekly and by the 2nd working day of the new month. In case of emergency involving any unusual incident inside or outside the building or injury to any person or damage to property the appropriate personnel will be notified and an incident report will be completed. Report other problems to supervisor the following working day. Treats all members with respect and encourages appropriate behavior from all members. Consistently enforces rules and regulation according to policy. Attend all mandated CCC in-services/training programs. Completes intake paperwork and provides orientation to the Drop In Center for any new participant. Any violation of policies and procedures/job duties will be subject to disciplinary action. Other Consumer Leader duties as required. Monitor daily attendance sign in sheet to ensure that all members are signing in and out.. Make list of supplies to be purchased and forward to coordinator on a monthly basis. Must be able to see, hear, speak, read, grasp, reach, walk, sit, climb stairs and able to lift up to 20 pounds. Practices Cultural Humility. Maintains and upholds Community Counseling Center's policies, respects confidentiality, and exhibits a professional demeanor at all times while at work.Any violation of policies and procedures/job duties will be subject to disciplinary action.Performs other duties as assigned.Can perform the essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodations, if necessary.Participates in CCC CQI plan to ensure quality of service to CCC consumers.
