What is drone assembly?

Drone assembly is the process of building and putting together drones, which involves installing components such as motors, propellers, batteries, and control systems. It requires technical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, often using tools like screwdrivers and soldering equipment. Proper assembly ensures the drone functions safely and effectively for applications like photography, surveillance, or delivery.

What is the highest paying drone job?

The highest paying drone jobs typically include drone pilot for commercial filming, aerial surveying, or inspection services, often requiring FAA certification and specialized skills. These roles can pay from $50,000 to over $150,000 annually depending on experience, industry, and project complexity.

What is the 400 foot rule for drones?

The 400 foot rule for drones states that recreational and commercial drone operators must keep their drones within 400 feet of their altitude and avoid flying over people or moving vehicles unless they have specific authorization. This regulation helps ensure safety and privacy and is enforced by the FAA in many regions. Drone assembly professionals should be familiar with these rules to ensure compliance during operations.

Job description

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America's drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We're hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

Your day to day will consist of working closely with leaders to read, interpret, and execute on work orders. You will also be assembling mechanical systems-from full vehicle structures to installing components,  sub-assemblies, and other using other hand-tools such as screwdrivers and tweezers.

This is a highly dynamic role where you will get an opportunity to see a factory being built from the ground up and potentially influence the success of our company. The role will also have opportunities for professional advancement.  If you are an organized, detail & process oriented mechanical assembly technician, please apply below.

You should have the following

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  •  2+ years of experience with hand or power tools
  • Ability to read work instructions
  • Hands on experience with mechanical assemblies
  • Practical knowledge of safe work practices such as safe work practices for specific tools

Nice to have

  • Part-107 and/or experience flying drones FPV and line of sight

US Salary Range

$20.00 - $35.00 per hour USD
