Job description

If you are an experienced, safe driver who enjoys pleasant conversation and working with the aging population, then this is a great job for you!

Villa Saint Joseph is a Private Retirement residence for retired Priests of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Our goal is to provide a consistent atmosphere of care and compassion in an enjoyable environment. We are located in Darby, Pa next door to Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Driving the company vehicle (car or wheelchair accessible van) to resident appointments.
  • Assisting residents in and out of vehicle.
  • Inspecting the company vehicle before and after trips.
  • Assist residents during their medical appointments with ambulation, assistive devices and navigating office buildings and hospitals at time of visit.
  • Any other Resident needs designated by the Administrator and Director of Nursing.
  • All Resident transport other than doctors’ appointments must be approved by the Administrator or Director of Nursing.
  • VSJ Administrator and Director of Nursing has the right to change and/or modify the responsibilities as needed.
  • Coordinate with nursing staff and unit coordinator daily.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing schedules.
  • Assist with other tasks at Villa Saint Joseph, as needed.
  • Business casual attire required.

Qualifications / Required:

  • Valid state driver's license.
  • 2 years driving seniors and assisting them in and out of vehicle / van.
  • Proof of personal auto Insurance.
  • Experience working with seniors is a requirement with an understanding of physical and mental limitations.
  • Strong customer service skills are a must!
  • Must be able to pass Defensive Drivers Training Quiz.
  • Must comply with HIPAA requirements.
