Overview
Dohrn Transfer is your complete Midwestern transportation partner. We offer less-than-truckload, truckload and value-added services throughout our 10-state service area. Dohrn is currently seeking a Full Time Driving Dock Supervisor at our Sturgeon, MO Terminal!
*Driver Qualified Required - Training Available*
Wage: $70,000.00/yr (after qualified to drive)
Schedule: Mon - Fri 11a Start time

Responsibilities
  • Provide training, supervision, feedback, and discipline for hourly Operations team members
  • Route City operation
  • 3-5 hours daily driving at start of each shift
  • Manage the daily performance of the City Pickup and Delivery Operation for optimal safety, performance, on-time Service, cost control, and claims prevention
  • Ensure On-time Delivery service in accordance with the organizational goals by ensuring pick-ups and deliveries are made timely, efficiently, and returns are kept to a minimum
  • Monitor Line Haul operation
  • Monitor Dock performance and efficiency and adjust manpower as needed
  • Solve problems regarding lost and missing freight
  • Communicate efficiently with other departments to ensure a successful operation
  • Work in a safe and professional manner so as to reduce personal risks and risk to fellow employees
  • Report all facility problems to the Facility Maintenance Department
  • Comply with federal, state, and company regulations
  • Process all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the job
  • Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications
โ€ข A minimum age of 18
โ€ข High School completion or equivalent
โ€ข Valid Driver License
โ€ข Supervisory experience required
โ€ข Ability to work any shift
โ€ข Must have the knowledge and ability to perform all Operations jobs in the Terminal including Dock, Dispatch, Warehouse, and Routing
โ€ข Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
โ€ข Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
โ€ข Strong leadership skills
โ€ข Detail-oriented, organized
โ€ข Must meet all physical requirements
โ€ข Must have certification in forklift safety and hazardous material handling
โ€ข Ability to multi-task and react to change productively
โ€ข Excellent attendance
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
โ€ข Lifting various types of materials will be required: cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etc
โ€ข Common material handling tools will be used: forklifts, carts, dollies, banding machines, shrink wrap tubes, pallet jacks, and tow motors
โ€ข Standing, walking, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending at the waist, reaching, and lifting both above and below waist level will be required
โ€ข Must be physically capable of operating a forklift, pallet jack, load lock and two-wheel handcart
โ€ข Will be required to lift up, set down, slide or move weight unassisted that could exceed 80 pounds
โ€ข Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 100+ lbs. on an infrequent basis
โ€ข Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
โ€ข Must have the ability to safely enter and exit trailers, vans, flatbeds, forklifts and tractors
โ€ข Must have the ability to work around and operate motorized equipment
โ€ข Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as specified in the job description
โ€ข May be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures and dusty conditions in the dock environment; must be able to perform essential functions in these conditions
