Job description

Purpose of Position:

 This is a salary position to lead in the instruction, supervision and development of newly hired drivers in training as well as provide continued guidance to all driving personnel. 

 Key Responsibilities:

    •  Independently Manage “New Hire Training” program including classroom and hands on education.
    •  Instruct driver trainees in proper operation of  readymix concrete trucks
    • Instruct driver trainees in proper pre-trip and post-trip procedures and driver truck maintenance
    • Offer advice and critique to trainees in proper driving technique, discharge and placement of concrete
    • Evaluate, document, and mentor job performance of driver trainees
    • Instruct driver trainees in plant procedures, traffic patterns and wash down locations
    • Ensure all personnel follow proper safety procedures, including the proper use of safety equipment
    • Responsible for tracking and evaluating  new drivers for up to “3” years
    • Provide continuous training and evaluation for “Plant Mentors”
    •  Provide “Plant Wide” training as necessary to increase overall safety record
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  •  All other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of ready mix truck operations experience
  • Safe driving record
  • Clear  MVR report
  •  Excellent attendance record
  • High School diploma, or G.E.D., required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, coach, and counsel employees
