Job Purpose
The Central Operations Manager manages the activity in Central Trucking, Central Ordering, and Central Field Service Dispatch and well as responsibility for all costs and P&L statements for the shared cost center/ pool.
The key responsibilities and accountabilities for the incumbent are to:
The Central Operations Manager oversees all facets of the Central Ordering, Trucking and Field Service to include customer interaction, business generation, and process management. The Central Operations Manager commands a team of Central Reservation Coordinators, Central Trucking Dispatchers, and a Field Service Dispatcher with dotted line reporting of pooled drivers and field service mechanics.
What you will do...
  • Achievement of operational goals and financial objectives for cost center/ pool
  • Manage required administrative tasks, controls and reports
  • Work with region management to maintain proper staffing levels to support the business
  • Responsible for hiring, employee performance management (PMED), and terminations
  • Proactive service fleet management to maximize revenue and minimize costs
  • Responsible for ongoing cost efficiency and department continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure coordination of all preventative maintenance and adherence to DOT, Gov regulations, HERC requirements
  • Proactive communication with internal/external customers
  • Work with sales reps on selling central operation attributes to customers
  • problem resolution utilizing root cause analysis tools
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • All other tasks assigned by management
