What are Drive By Property Inspectors?

Drive By Property Inspectors are professionals who conduct exterior inspections of properties, typically for lenders, insurance companies, or real estate purposes. They do not enter the property but assess its condition from the outside, take photographs, and report on visible issues such as damages, occupancy status, and general upkeep. Their reports help financial institutions make decisions regarding loans, foreclosures, or insurance claims. This job often offers flexible hours and is usually performed on a contract basis.

To excel as a Drive By Property Inspector, you generally need a high school diploma, attention to detail, a reliable vehicle, and a valid driver’s license. Familiarity with mobile inspection apps, GPS navigation systems, and digital cameras is typically required. Strong time management, communication skills, and the ability to work independently set top inspectors apart. These competencies are essential for efficiently collecting accurate property data and meeting deadlines while minimizing errors.

Job description

At Pinnacle Lodging, our success isn't just built on the properties we manage or the services we provide. It's built on our people. We are a team driven by passion, collaboration, and a shared commitment to creating exceptional experiences. As a leader in the luxury vacation home industry, we specialize in property management and vacation rentals. But what sets us apart is our culture.
At Pinnacle Lodging, we push boundaries, embrace challenges, and grow together. We balance professionalism with authenticity and confidence with humility. Success here isn't just about business growth. It's about the relationships we build, the experiences we create, and the meaningful impact we make every day. That's where you come in.
The Role: At Pinnacle Lodging, we're looking for a Property Inspector with a sharp eye for detail and a genuine pride in doing things right. This isn't a checklist job. It's the work that protects our homeowners' investments, upholds our brand promise, and directly shapes the experience every guest has from the moment they walk through the door. You'll move fast, think independently, and hold the line on quality across some of the most beautiful properties in Summit County.
If you take pride in the details others miss, thrive in an environment where no two days look the same, and want your work to matter, keep reading.
This is an in-person role based out of Breckenridge, CO.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own Property Quality. Conduct thorough inspections of our luxury properties - assessing cleanliness, maintenance, presentation, and readiness for each guest. You're the last set of eyes before a guest arrives, and the first to catch anything that falls short of our standard.
  • Communicate and Coordinate. Partner closely with maintenance technicians, cleaning crews, property managers, and guest services to make sure every issue is documented, assigned, and resolved on time. Create clear, detailed work orders and post-inspection follow-up reports that keep the whole team aligned.
  • Solve Problems on the Spot. Troubleshoot common household maintenance issues and resolve what you can in the field. When something needs escalation, you escalate fast and stay on it until it's done.
  • Keep Properties in Their Best Shape. Take on proactive tasks to stay ahead of wear and tear - updating home information, refreshing photos, and flagging anything that could become a bigger issue down the road. You treat every property like it's your own.
  • On-Call. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule approximately once per week to provide after-hours support and ensure operational continuity.

Qualifications:
  • An eye for detail that most people don't have. You notice what's off before anyone else does, and it genuinely bothers you when something isn't right.
  • Experience in property inspection, hospitality, or a related field. You know what luxury looks like and you know when something doesn't meet the bar.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal. You can work with anyone - cleaners, contractors, managers, and guests - and you leave every conversation clearer than it started.
  • Adaptability and self-direction. You manage your own time across multiple properties, pivot when priorities change, and don't need someone looking over your shoulder to do great work.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office and property management systems to document inspections, manage work orders, and stay organized across a busy portfolio.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Why Join Us:
  • Award-Winning Culture - Be part of a people-first company that's recognized for excellence. Our culture is what sets us apart - we support each other, celebrate wins together, and push for continuous growth.
  • Meaningful Work - Support multiple teams that are creating remarkable homes and experiences in Colorado's most beautiful places.
  • Every Day is Different - Variety, flexibility, and a great environment to learn, grow, and contribute across the business.

What we offer:
  • Compensation starts at $26/hour based on experience and skill level.
  • 3 weeks of Annual Paid Time Off.
  • $500 annual Tool and Technology Reimbursement
  • 16 Paid Volunteer hours annually. We take giving back seriously.
  • Health Insurance options available, with Dental and Vision options.
  • Cell Phone and Mileage Reimbursements.
