Job description

Description
The Opportunity
Some people manage projects.
You build what others thought couldn't be done.
At Alpha Inc., we're looking for a Drilling Project Manager who thrives where precision, grit, and leadership intersect. Someone who can orchestrate people, equipment, budgets, schedules, and technical challenges while never losing sight of the ultimate goal: delivering exceptional projects safely, on time, and on budget.
This isn't a role for someone who simply updates spreadsheets and attends meetings.
This is for someone who enjoys solving problems before they become crises, who communicates clearly under pressure, and who understands that every successful drilling project is built on planning, accountability, teamwork, and execution.
If you're the kind of leader who takes ownership, earns trust in the field, and believes every project is a reflection of your reputation...
We should talk.
About Alpha Inc.
Founded and built in Hawai?i, Alpha Inc. is one of the state's leading heavy civil construction, drilling, renewable energy, concrete, crane, and infrastructure companies.
We're helping build the future of Hawai?i through projects that strengthen our communities, protect our resources, and create lasting impact.
Everything we do is guided by three core values:
Lead with Heart
We lead with humility, respect, and genuine care for our people, our customers, and our communities.
Strength in Unity
The best projects happen when talented people work together with trust and shared purpose.
Alpha Mentality
We embrace challenges, own our work, and relentlessly pursue excellence.
If those values sound like the way you already lead, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do
As a Drilling Project Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating every phase of drilling projects-from planning through closeout-while ensuring exceptional execution, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
Lead Project Execution
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee drilling projects from initiation through completion.
  • Keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Coordinate daily activities with drillers, superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and support teams.
  • Ensure work aligns with project specifications, company standards, and client expectations.
Own Project Performance
  • Develop project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor project costs and productivity to maintain profitability.
  • Identify risks early and implement proactive solutions.
  • Manage project scope changes and change orders with accurate documentation.
Drive Technical Excellence
  • Collaborate with engineering and field teams to solve technical challenges.
  • Review project documentation, specifications, and as-built drawings.
  • Ensure quality control standards are maintained throughout every phase of construction.
  • Verify compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
Champion Safety
  • Partner with Safety to ensure every project meets Alpha's high safety expectations.
  • Participate in risk assessments and pre-planning activities.
  • Promote a culture where every employee returns home safely every day.
Build Strong Relationships
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients throughout project execution.
  • Provide timely project updates and communicate professionally with all stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Continuously Improve
  • Participate in project reviews and lessons learned.
  • Recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Help strengthen Alpha's growing drilling operations for the future.
What You Bring
You're organized without being rigid.
Technical without losing sight of people.
Confident without ego.
You thrive in fast-paced environments where every day presents a new challenge.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of project engineering, project management, or related experience in drilling, heavy civil construction, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders while managing budgets, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with field operations and construction sequencing.
Technical Skills
  • Project management software experience.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.
Leadership Qualities
You naturally embody Alpha's core values:
Lead with Heart
You build trust, communicate openly, and care about your team.
Strength in Unity
You understand that great projects require collaboration.
Alpha Mentality
You take ownership, solve problems, and finish what you start.
Why Alpha?
We're building more than infrastructure.
We're building careers.
At Alpha Inc., you'll join a team that:
  • Tackles meaningful projects that shape Hawai?i's future.
  • Invests in employee development and long-term career growth.
  • Empowers leaders to make decisions and create impact.
  • Lives its values-not just hangs them on the wall.
