American Pump & Drilling is a growing local company looking for a highly organized and dependable Water Well Drilling Project Manager to join our team. This position is primarily an office-based role (not remote) focused on coordinating and managing water well drilling projects from start to finish.


The ideal candidate is detail oriented, communicates professionally, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively coordinate customers, crews, schedules, permits, materials, and project logistics. This role is critical to helping our drilling operations stay organized, efficient, and responsive to customer needs throughout Eastern Idaho, Western Wyoming, and Southern Montana.


Position Overview

The Water Well Drilling Project Manager oversees the administrative and operational coordination of drilling projects throughout all phases of the job lifecycle. This includes permitting, scheduling, communication with customers and field crews, project tracking, documentation, materials coordination, invoicing preparation, and supporting overall operational efficiency.


This is a hands-on coordination role that works closely with drillers, field personnel, vendors, suppliers, customers, and office staff to ensure projects are completed safely, professionally, and efficiently.


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Communicate with potential and existing customers both verbally and in writing
  • Coordinate and manage water well drilling projects from scheduling through completion
  • Apply for and manage well permits, trip permits, and related regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with drilling crews and field personnel regarding scheduling, project status, and operational needs
  • Track job progress, scheduling, resource allocation, and forecasting
  • Assist with procurement and coordinate materials to ensure jobs are properly staged and ready
  • Maintain organized project documentation, records, and reporting
  • Prepare and allocate job materials for invoicing and project closeout
  • Complete job completion reporting and project updates
  • Help identify and implement process improvements to improve operational efficiency
  • Coordinate vendors, subcontractors, and deliveries as needed
  • Assist with project logistics and troubleshooting operational challenges
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information
  • Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned

  • Experience in construction coordination, project management, water well drilling, utilities, excavation, or related industries preferred
