DRC Lifeguard
Recreation Salary Schedule: Category C; step 1: $13.37


Purpose Statement: Responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned


  • Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency
  • Enforces all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations in a positive and professional manner
  • Presents professional appearance an attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service
  • Communicates any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to Aquatics Director
  • Recognizes and responds effectively to emergencies
  • Documents and reports all disciplinary problems and accidents to Aquatic Director
  • Inspects the aquatic facility on a daily schedule and reports unsafe conditions and equipment to supervisor
  • Completes records and reports
  • Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by supervisor


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: CPR/1st Aid Certificate; Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate
