Job description

  • Set-up and operate CNC Lathes.
  • Mill turn manufacturing experience is helpful.
  • Manage tooling life, adjust, change offsets, and modify programs as needed.
  • Interpret blueprints to ensure parts are machined to specifications.
  • Follow Job requirements to set up fixturing, cutting tools, and other support equipment for machining of parts.
  • General understanding of applying cutting tools for machining as well as calculating feeds, speeds, and depths of cut.
  • Ability to read and interpret CNC G- code and programming languages.
  • Ability to understand and modify CNC work offsets, tool radius offsets, and other parameters for CNC toolpath.
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other quality control devices, as well as use the measurements gathered to properly adjust program and tool parameters to achieve quality standards.
  • Maintain machine preventive maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Keep surrounding work area clean and organized.

Education and/or Experience

  • 2+years' experience setting up CNC lathe machines.
  • Experience editing CNC machine programs and writing basic programs.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus but not required.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
