Job description

Summary:
This position is located in our Saginaw, Michigan facility. The list of duties and responsibilities below are not meant to be all-inclusive, and employees may be asked to perform other job-related tasks by their supervisor or manager.
Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Person.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
COMMON JOB DUTIES:
  • Abide by all environmental, health and safety rules and regulations
  • Ability and willingness to train and perform all job duties of this position with the goal of attaining all skillsets within the position. This includes new equipment and processes introduced by the Company
  • Participate in the training of others as assigned
  • Maintain excellent attendance
  • Maintain the integrity of the required Quality/Inspection data and reporting it in an accurate manner
  • Maintain all job documentation as required
  • Housekeeping/cleaning of department
  • Participation in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain utilization
  • Abide by Plant Work Rules and Code of Conduct
  • Immediately respond to production stoppages, i.e. down machine, lack of material, missing tools, etc.
  • Maintain certifications and testing as required by the position
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
  • Direct labor painting that is value added to the product
  • Paint product using brushes, rollers and spray guns
  • Set up, operate and tend machines to coat or paint any of a wide variety of products
  • Remove old paint when necessary
  • Keep inventory of painting supplies
  • Keep record of shelf life of painting supplies
  • Wear respirator when required
  • Review drawings and coordinate the number of the paint with the number on the set-up sheet
  • Proper disposal of all waste (including hazardous)
  • Care of equipment and paint booth per safety requirements
  • Material moving – ensuring product safety
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors and managers
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to perform the physical aspects of the position
  • Ability to carry out tasks without close supervision
  • Ability to work together with others at all levels within the company
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions
  • Ability to work with hazardous chemicals
  • 1-3 years’ experience in product painting
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma
Certificates and Licenses:
Participation in the FAA Anti-drug and alcohol Program to work on Safety Sensitive parts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Language, Math, and Reasoning Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, procedure manuals, set-up sheets, blueprints, government regulations, and technical procedures. Ability to define problems and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to understand the speech of another person. Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand.
Computer Skills:
Basic operating skills are required.
