Job description

A leading contract manufacturer of deep draw metal stampings located in Zeeland is looking for temp to hire associates, Operating. This position will require you to run 1-2 automated stamp presses that are stamping out parts every so many seconds. Must be able to be multitask and walk back and forth between machines. Position consists of quality checks using measuring instruments as well as a visual check. Must be able to build boxes and/or totes between machines and ensure parts are to customers expectations.

Operator Role
  • Perform assigned in-process and final inspections
  • Monitor product using the work station equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, rings and plugs to insure that quality products are being produced
  • Generate and maintain quality documents in a neat and orderly manner
  • Measure and inspect parts according to the Operator Inspection Instruction
  • Support and assist production as necessary or required
  • Make decisions concerning the production or shipment or nonconforming product
  • Generate "Hold" tags to identify nonconforming or suspect product
  • Gather paperwork, SPC data, and gauges necessary for upcoming production jobs
  • Comply with company procedures, safety standards, and housekeeping practices by keeping work area clean, safe and organized
  • Able to label accurately

Operator Job Requirements
  • Must have Operating experience
    • 3-5 years at one company
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Some knowledge/understanding of blueprint reading
  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Able to operate a pendant crane
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to read a ruler
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
  • Steel toe footwear required
