The Opportunity

You will serve as a vital technical backbone for an award-winning design-build firm, transforming creative concepts into precise, buildable construction documents. This role gives you the autonomy to manage your drafting workload while collaborating directly with multiple designers and clients. You will have the unique opportunity to see your 3D renderings come to life through a well-established, non-micromanaged production process.


How You Will Make An Impact

  • Transform initial project concepts into detailed 3D structural renderings using Chief Architect software to guide the design process.
  • Assist design consultants with accurate on-site measurements and project photography to establish exact existing conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive construction documents and standard structural details to secure municipal building permits efficiently.
  • Coordinate directly with municipal planning, zoning, and building departments to navigate local code requirements.
  • Partner with three independent interior project designers to maintain seamless project files, organized drawing sets, and clear client communication.
  • Apply exceptional color distinction and spatial design principles to produce highly accurate layout sketches for field production.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven professional experience working with residential construction documents, assemblies, materials, and remodeling terminology.
  • High proficiency utilizing 3D CAD drafting software to design complex residential structures.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating local building codes, structural restrictions, and municipal permit procurement processes.
  • Strong organizational skills necessary to prioritize multiple project deadlines simultaneously in a multi-task environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required for occasional customer-facing consultations and team collaboration.
  • Ability to execute light to medium physical site work, including standing, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 35 pounds.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced technical proficiency explicitly utilizing Chief Architect 3D architectural design software.
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Architecture, Drafting, Design, or a closely related technical field.
