Position Summary
The Drafter Level II is responsible for producing intermediate-to-advanced AutoCAD and Revit drawings for insulated metal panel (IMP) projects. This role performs drafting tasks with moderate independence, prepares accurate material take-offs and bills of materials, and completes shop drawings of standard to moderately complex difficulty. The Drafter maintains a solid understanding of AWIP products, drafting workflows, calculation tools, and construction principles, while supporting Level I Drafters and collaborating with senior Drafting team members and Project Managers to ensure project accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to AWIP standards.

  • Participate in team training sessions and contribute to the development of internal drafting resources and tools as assigned.
  • Complete all required training, including in-person sessions conducted by Supervisors or senior Drafting team members.
  • Comply with all company, departmental, and safety policies.

  • Working knowledge of core AWIP products, IMP system behavior, and common connection details.
  • Strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams (Project Managers, senior Drafting team members, Sales).
  • Ability to follow established drafting standards and contribute observations for process improvement.
  • Ability to provide support and instruction to Level I Drafters on standard drafting tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with initiative to research missing information or request clarification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Proficiency with Box, WhatsApp, or similar productivity tools.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical drafting certificate or relevant coursework preferred.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience using AutoCAD and Revit, or equivalent proficiency.
  • Experience working with IMPs, building envelope systems, metal buildings, or related construction fields preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
