Cherry County Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced onsite Lead Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team. This leadership role is responsible for guiding the Clinical Informatics Team, supporting clinical staff, and optimizing the use of healthcare technology systems to improve patient care and workflow efficiency.


Position Overview

The Lead Clinical Informatics Specialist serves as a key liaison between clinical teams and information technology. This role provides leadership and oversight of the Clinical Informatics Team while ensuring effective use, adoption, and optimization of clinical systems and electronic health records.


Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Cherry County Hospitalย 
  • Provide leadership and daily oversight of the Clinical Informatics Team in collaboration with the CIOย 
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and IT to improve workflows and system efficiencyย 
  • Support optimization of Meditech EHR workflows and performance metricsย 
  • Coordinate clinical system onboarding and develop EHR training for providersย 
  • Act as a primary escalation point for EHR and clinical system issuesย 
  • Manage system configuration, user setup, and application support within the EHRย 
  • Lead implementation, testing, and maintenance of Meditech projects and enhancementsย 
  • Coordinate go-lives, downtime events, and after-hours support as neededย 
  • Oversee helpdesk functions and assist Core IT staff with complex issuesย 
  • Manage e-prescribing setup through Dr. First and Meditechย 
  • Support integration and interfacing of clinical systems into the EHRย 
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system coverageย 
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, corporate compliance policies, and hospital proceduresย 
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient medical, personal, and financial informationย 
  • Perform additional duties as assignedย
