Job description

Amazon is seeking an experienced Compliance Program Manager with a proven track record of performance to be part of a Denied Party Screening (DPS) compliance team.

We are looking for an individual who can provide sanctions guidance and manage projects across all Amazon businesses to drive centralized, low-friction solutions for managing risk, allowing them to focus on their core business.
The candidate will be responsible for developing sanctions related guidance and SOPs according to regulatory requirements and to mitigate compliance risk. The candidate will need to be able to apply guidance to complex types of investigations, and provide support for internal/external escalations. This role will also be expected to proactively identify how new regulatory updates impact the broader program, including enhancing investigation frameworks and identifying nuanced approaches to businesses based upon risk and compliance requirements


The role will require frequent communication with Legal and other Compliance functions, as well as the the ability to concisely deliver requirements to business partners (including operations, product, and leadership teams).
Key job responsibilities
As a Compliance Manager you will:
- Identify and interpret requirements and new updates from sanctions regulatory authorities and their overall impact on the DPS program and compliance strategy
- Develop new guidance to support the onboarding of new businesses into the DPS screening program, as well as continual improvement/enhancement of existing compliance frameworks
- Review complex edge cases and sensitive investigations, and establish a risk tolerance that balances risk mitigation with customer obsession
- Provide support on impactful escalations and appeals that may require liaising with senior leadership, external business partners, and Legal
- Prioritize multiple workstreams, providing timely responses and maintaining a sense of urgency when required
