Job description


Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, TN, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.
Rogers Group is seeking candidates for an Equipment Operator position for our Virginia SMA operations in Roanoke, VA. The successful candidate for this role will have experience operating various pieces of heavy equipment - excavator, dozer, track hoe, loader, haul truck, and skid steer, and others. This individual will also be required to work on the ground and in the plant. They must have a strong commitment to safety excellence.
Job Details:
  • Wages starting at $18.00/hr. for entry level candidates. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train.
  • Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with quarry and mining experience. Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Willing and able to work on the ground and in the plant as needed.
  • Able and willing to assist with fixed plant maintenance.
  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment with precision and excellence in a variety of terrains and conditions.
  • Performing various production duties.
  • Complete required daily inspections, light maintenance, greasing, and fueling of heavy equipment.
  • May be called upon at the discretion of management to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary.

Job Qualifications:
  • Must have a dedication to safe work practices.
  • At least two years of proficient experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
  • Experience operating various pieces of heavy equipment - excavator, dozer, track hoe, loader, haul truck, skid steer, and others.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
