WE ARE HIRING!
The DoubleTree by Hilton in the heart of downtown South Bend is looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to join our leadership team. Our Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring our guestrooms are clean, inspected, and ready on time, while providing daily direction, support, and accountability to our Housekeeping team. This is a working leadership position for someone who is comfortable being on the floors, inspecting rooms, coaching team members, solving problems, and helping the department meet the needs of a busy hotel. Previous hotel housekeeping experience and weekend availability are strongly required.
Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily work of Room Attendants and House Attendants, inspecting guestrooms, monitoring productivity and quality standards, and ensuring rooms are released to the Front Desk accurately and on time.
The Supervisor works closely with Housekeeping Management, Front Desk, and Engineering to maintain room readiness, address maintenance concerns, and provide an excellent guest experience.
What You'll Do
  • Supervise and support Room Attendants and House Attendants throughout the shift
  • Assign daily room boards and work assignments based on occupancy and operational needs
  • Inspect guestrooms to ensure they meet DoubleTree by Hilton cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Identify deficiencies and coach Room Attendants on necessary corrections
  • Re-inspect corrected rooms before releasing them as ready
  • Monitor room cleaning progress and help ensure rooms are available for arriving guests on time
  • Inspect VIP rooms, special requests, and priority guestrooms
  • Communicate room status, discrepancies, and operational concerns with the Front Desk
  • Physically verify discrepant room statuses when necessary
  • Monitor productivity and completion of daily assignments
  • Ensure housekeeping carts, linen closets, stairwells, landings, and service areas remain clean and organized
  • Maintain proper key control and radio procedures
  • Report maintenance concerns and submit work orders to Engineering
  • Follow up on work orders affecting room availability
  • Assist with training and onboarding new Housekeeping team members
  • Coach employees on cleaning procedures, productivity, safety, and hotel standards
  • Ensure Lost & Found procedures are followed correctly
  • Assist with special cleaning and preventative maintenance projects
  • Help close the Housekeeping floors at the end of the shift and ensure carts are cleaned and restocked
  • Ensure assignment sheets, inspection records, and required Housekeeping documentation are completed accurately
  • Assist Housekeeping Management with daily operations and departmental needs
  • Step in and assist the team operationally when business levels require it
  • Help ensure overall guest satisfaction and room readiness
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience strongly preferred
  • Previous supervisory or team-lead experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of guestroom cleaning and inspection standards
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold team members accountable professionally
  • Strong attention to detail - you should be able to spot cleanliness and maintenance concerns before our guests do
  • Ability to organize assignments and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable working alongside the team and providing hands-on assistance when needed

Physical Requirements
This is an active leadership position that requires the ability to:
  • Stand and walk for the majority of the shift

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Frequently move items weighing up to 20 pounds
