What is a DOT Safety Manager?

DOT Safety Managers are professionals responsible for ensuring that organizations comply with the safety regulations set by the Department of Transportation (DOT). They develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures related to transportation, including driver qualification, vehicle maintenance, and hazardous materials handling. Their role is crucial in minimizing accidents, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of safety within companies that operate commercial vehicles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a DOT Safety Manager, and why are they important?
