POSITION: Forklift Driver

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.
  • Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
  • Locate stock before the start of the run.
  • Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
  • Operates and cares for forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.
  • Completes and documents a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turns in maintenance work orders to supervisor when repairs are needed.
  • Delivers all appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and timely while maintaining areas clean and free of debris.
  • Removes finished goods bundles from machines making sure tags and information remain with units and moves to storage or loads delivery truck.
  • Assists with identifying bad quality boxes and may move to red tag area while making sure tags and/or appropriate identification remains with units.
  • Adheres to daily production schedule and makes recommendations for optimizing schedules to meet cost, quality, delivery and customer service goals.
  • Completes necessary reports in a neat, accurate and timely manner which may include but are not limited to: Production, Safety and Quality Data and Machine Operational Status.
  • Must relieve other forklift drivers for breaks and meal periods at assigned times, assist other forklift operators when needed, train new forklift drivers and cross train in other areas where forklifts are needed.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Follows corporate Quality, Sanitation, GMP and HACCP standards to achieve a finished product within quality control specifications.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

SUMMARY
Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the forklift.
