Job Title: Donor Greeter
Department: Donated Goods Program (DGP)
Reports To: Store Manager

Position Summary:
Responsible for providing world-class donor experience by maintaining a friendly, helpful, and professional demeanor. Responsible for accepting, sorting, and processing incoming donations according to GWH's guidelines. Ensure donations are handled efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively to support the organization's mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting each donor promptly upon arrival, showing appreciation, and inviting them to return.
  • Collect donations using donation carts and sort them out into proper limited categories as required.
  • Accept furniture donations, place them in staging areas, and assist in moving to the sales floor once priced.
  • Ensure that all full raw and outlet equipment is properly labeled at the time of setup.
  • Operate pallet jacks to move full gaylords and load outbound trailers while maintaining safety and productivity standards.
  • Accurately record donations using the donor tablet to maintain accurate records of donations received and issue completed donation receipts to all donors.
  • Ensure designated personal protective equipment (PPE) is being properly utilized, including but not limited to highly-visibility safety vests and cut-resistant gloves.
  • Request additional supplies from management when running low.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the safety and security of GWH associates, donors, and company property.
  • Perform necessary janitorial work.
  • Must report all work incidents and injuries immediately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

  • Ability to multitask, make quick decisions, adapt to change, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must perform work safely; maintain good housekeeping standards, and ensure all aisles and pathways to fire exits are clear and free of clutter.
  • Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact well with individuals with diverse personalities and communication styles.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Regular twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and, occasionally, lift/move items up to 100 lbs. (e.g., large bags of donations, televisions, furniture, etc.)
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate indoor noise with exposure to outside temperatures.
