Job Overview

Join our Mission - The mission of the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph is to proclaim Jesus through education and Christian formation, in the spirit of our founder, Saint Angela Merici.

About the Role - The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph invite a visionary leader to shape the future of our Mission Advancement department, elevating it into a central engine for active, living mission work. While continuing traditional fundraising with relationship building, we also envision a collaborative, dynamic effort more directly centered on carrying out our shared purpose and mission through evolving partnerships.

We are seeking a visionary, energetic partner - someone who is innovative and will share in our efforts to embrace and impact an expanded vision of Mission Advancement.

Duties

· Develops a culture of collaboration with Mission Advancement staff that aligns with the overall mission of the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph.

· Supervises and defines goals for Communications office, assists however needed to achieve those goals, and coaches performance of the coordinator and communications specialist. Helps to shape the public image of the Ursuline Sisters of MSJ.

· Supervises and defines goals for the Coordinator of Ursuline Partnerships, assists however needed to achieve those goals, and coaches performance of the coordinator.

· Provides the staff with training and opportunities for growth and skill development.

· Works in partnership with other departments to advance the overall mission of the community.

· Creates expense and income budget for department, works within the approved budget. Monitors variance and identifies areas where change of practice is needed.

· Develops annual goals for the annual appeal and special events.

· Directs all development activities, including planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating all fundraising programs and functions.

· Oversees the establishment of policy, procedure and protocol on all development issues consistent with the established mission and policies of the congregation.

· Keeps abreast of, and complies with, Kentucky Charitable Gaming laws, and all other applicable fundraising laws.

· Oversees maintaining donor database, generating monthly reports and training staff for database management.

· Designs and prepares progress reports for leadership and membership and reports to the Board of Directors.

· Educates staff and Associates on the mission and development to create a deeper understanding and to increase support.

· Communicates with donors through direct mail and Ursulines Alive letters.

· Plans and oversees all donor recognition activities.

· Maintains communications with all current and past donors to continue and promote positive relations.

· Continuously seeks out new avenues for donors and makes direct contact with potential donors.

· Assists donors wishing to secure planned gifts to community.

· Serves as the chair for event committees.

· Plans, directs, coordinates and hosts all fundraising events.

Education/Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree at accredited university
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience, with demonstrated success in fundraising.
