Mushers, or sled dog drivers, are responsible for the care, training, and well-being of their dogs, ensuring they are properly fed, exercised, and prepared for long-distance travel in cold environments. Jobs may include guiding sled tours, competing in races like the Iditarod, or working in remote areas where dog sleds are still used for transport. They often collaborate with veterinarians, handlers, and other mushers to share resources and expertise. Success in this role relies on preparation, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to both animal welfare and teamwork, ensuring both safety and positive outcomes on the trail.
