Job Overview

Join our vibrant pet care team as a Dog Bather, where your passion for animals and dedication to their well-being will shine! In this energetic role, you’ll be the expert in pet grooming and handling, ensuring each dog looks and feels their best. Your enthusiasm for animal care combined with excellent customer service skills will create a positive experience for pet owners and their beloved companions. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in animal handling, grooming, and veterinary-related procedures while working in a lively, supportive environment.

Duties

  • Safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments during grooming sessions, ensuring comfort and safety at all times
  • Perform pet bathing, brushing, drying, coat styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming services with precision and care
  • Assist with animal restraint techniques to ensure safe grooming practices for pets and staff
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming needs, special instructions, and pet behavior
  • Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
  • Support veterinary staff with basic animal care tasks such as handling animals during examinations or procedures when needed
  • Handle kennel cleaning and maintain a tidy workspace to promote a safe environment for animals and staff
  • Bathing, Drying and brushing of dogs
  • trimming and grinding dog nails
  • expressing anal glands externally
  • laundry
  • Cleaning through out the day along with assisting with deep clean at end of every shift
  • Assisting others when needed.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred; familiarity with dog training or veterinary technician experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet coat styling is essential for safe grooming practices
  • Strong communication skills to interact confidently with pet owners and team members
  • Ability to lift heavy loads (heavy lifting) when necessary for equipment or animal handling
  • Experience with customer service in a pet care setting is desirable to ensure positive client interactions
  • Basic understanding of veterinary or veterinary assistant procedures is advantageous but not required
  • Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday while maintaining a lively attitude
