Job Title: Traveling Superintendent - Multifamily
Job Location: Southern California (Travel)
Salary (DOE): $120k-$160k
Requirements: 5+ Years Experience as a Superintendent on $20M+ Multifamily projects in the greater Southern California area. 
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead multifamily construction projects across a regional portfolio. The ideal candidate will manage ground-up and mixed-use developments including garden-style communities ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to our quality standards. This role requires frequent travel between job sites, hands-on leadership of field teams and subcontractors, and strong communication with project managers and owners.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site leadership and supervision for multiple multifamily construction projects (ground-up, mixed-use, garden-style) across assigned territories.
  • Travel regularly between job sites to oversee daily operations, verify progress, and enforce company standards.
  • Manage subcontractors, coordinate trades, and ensure scope adherence, timely deliveries and optimal staffing levels.
  • Monitor and maintain project schedules, issue daily reports, track milestones, and coordinate resources to meet critical dates.
  • Enforce safety programs and site compliance, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure OSHA and company safety protocols are followed.
  • Perform quality control and inspections at key milestones, address punch-list items, and maintain final closeout documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and owners to resolve field issues and minimize delays.
  • Review plans, submittals, and RFI responses; verify as-built conditions and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Manage budgetary items in the field including change order identification, time and material tracking, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Utilize construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and mobile tools to maintain real-time jobsite records and communications.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of superintendent experience on multifamily projects, including ground-up and mixed-use developments; garden-style project experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to travel frequently and manage multiple sites across a region; valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, schedule management, quality control, and field safety practices (OSHA certifications preferred).
  • Experience supervising and coordinating subcontractors, field crews, and multiple trades in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with WRAP requirements and compliance (or experience managing site-specific compliance programs) is a plus.
  • Proficient in reading plans, specifications, and coordinating RFI/submittal processes.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget; experience identifying and managing change orders.
