Client: Department of Energy (DOE), NNSA Office of Systems Engineering and Integration (NA-18)

Contract: Life Cycle Logistics Management Support

Location: Albuquerque, NM.

Security Clearance: DOE Q or DOW TS

OVERVIEW

The Logistician will analyze complex logistics, supply chain, and manufacturing processes within the NNSA weapons complex. Support will encompass analyses related to life cycle planning, management, and program execution, to include support of test and evaluation programs and full scope coverage of all logistics support elements. The Logistician will perform analysis of the NNSA acquisition logistics processes crucial to developing nuclear weapon life cycle management packages to support current and future NNSA nuclear enterprise activities and develop approaches necessary to support nuclear weapons life cycle activities across the spectrum of programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate acquisition logistics and sustainment considerations into weapon life extension project and program activities.
  • Support the development of high-level Defense Program's (DP) logistics approaches by interfacing with stakeholders such as Department of War (DOW) as well as DP personnel.
  • Manage and perform analyses and studies of DP's acquisition processes. Identify requirements, interfaces, conflicts, and integration issues and provide recommended resolutions based on sound engineering rationale supported by thorough and comprehensive analysis.
  • Support the development of Lifecycle Sustainment Plans for various weapons programs.
  • Develop Integrated Logistics Assessment Plans and conduct integrated logistics assessments.
  • Develop material fielding plans, interface control documents, and transition to operations plans to improve engineering, sustainment, and lifecycle management of NNSA systems and assets.
  • Support the development of an integrated supply chain model/database.
  • Support the implementation of product support across the NNSA DP.
  • Analyze manufacturer readiness level considerations.
  • Evaluate pre-production engineering logistics activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of five years' experience developing and implementing logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Experience supporting independent logistics assessments.
  • Experience directing Integrated Product Support activities.
  • Strong written analytic communication; ability to produce concise products for senior audiences.
  • Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Local residence in the Albuquerque, NM area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other relevant degree. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Logistics, Supply Chain, Lean, or other relevant certification(s).
  • Department of Energy (DOE) 6.X and/or DOW 5000-series acquisition experience.
  • Knowledge of the interfaces between DOE/NNSA programs, field sites, contractors, and other government agencies involved in weapons production, handling, and transportation.
  • Knowledge of DOE/NNSA weapons programs.
  • Experience analyzing, designing, and optimizing complex manufacturing and distribution supply chains.
  • DOW logistics background involving large/complex weapons systems and knowledge of nuclear materials.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Hybrid schedule typically consisting of 3-4 days per week at the customer site on Kirtland Air Force Base and 1-2 days per week of telework.
