Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for defense and electronic warfare systems within the SPIN/MUEU lab environment
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient C++ code following object-oriented design principles and best practices
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including software design documents (SDD), interface control documents (ICD), test plans, procedures and perform code reviews 
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues in a lab setting
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware engineers, and government customers to define and refine software requirements
  • Support software configuration management and version control processes
  • Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and program milestone events
  • Ensure compliance with applicable coding standards, safety requirements, and DoD software development guidelines

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years’ experience
  • Experience with Embedded Systems, C++ and object-oriented programming
  • Interim secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.  SAIC will sponsor the clearance process
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
