Job Description Title: Mechanical Engineer Comp: $70,000-$90,000 + ESOP + End-of-Year Bonus Location: Louisville, KY (On-site) Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Mechanical Engineer direct hire position in the Louisville, KY area. Responsibilities: Support design, development, qualification, and sustainment of mission-critical DoD mechanical systems Perform engineering analysis, experimentation, and testing to develop and validate design solutions Execute R&D and sustaining engineering tasks including machine design, product refinement, and process improvements Develop and review technical documentation including specifications, requirements, test plans, and engineering drawings Design and build test rigs and validation setups to support hardware qualification and performance testing Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and project teams to resolve technical issues Support CAD modeling, digital data management, BOM creation, and technical data package development Assist with production support and troubleshooting as needed to ensure system performance and reliability Required Skills (Must Have): Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 1+ years of relevant engineering experience (more preferred) Strong understanding of mechanical design, machine design, or process engineering principles Experience with engineering analysis, problem-solving, and experimental testing Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (specs, requirements, test plans, etc.) Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams Ability to work independently and in a team-based engineering environment Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): Experience in defense, aerospace, or mission-critical manufacturing environments Background in test development, validation, or test rig design Exposure to sustaining engineering and production support environments Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and BOM management Experience with informal project coordination or engineering project support Understanding of CAD-to-manufacturing workflows and digital thread/data flow concepts #ID9515.
