Job description

INNOVIM is seeking an IT Scrum Master supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions
(IRES) contract.

Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL
Relocation Assistance: None available at this time
Remote/Telework: NO - Not available for this position
Clearance Type: DoW Secret
Shift: Day Shift
Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time

The IT Scrum Master supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions
(IRES) contract. The candidate will work in close partnership with the Release Train Engineer (RTE). Because our technical teams are
geographically dispersed, this position will operate in an onsite, hybrid environment, facilitating collaboration across a mix of in-person and
virtual team members in both Huntsville and Colorado Springs.

The candidate will:

  • Partner directly with the RTE to define, mature, and align the Scrum Master role with program-level SAFe frameworks and Agile release trains.
  • Collaborate with the RTE to design, implement, and train the IT team on customized Agile processes, helping technical staff smoothly transition to a structured Agile delivery model.
  • Establish a cohesive "one-team" dynamic across geographically split locations (HSV and COS) by leveraging virtual collaboration tools and maintaining an inclusive hybrid engagement model.
  • Facilitate an optimized Agile battle rhythm tailored to the unique operational needs and delivery cycles of the IT and infrastructure teams.
  • Guide and coach the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices to deliver high-quality IT solutions.
  • Assist the Product Owner and Technical Leads with backlog maintenance, prioritizing IT initiatives, and translating technical requirements into actionable user stories.
  • Assist the team by making sure all data for planning is documented into the system of record for accurate reporting and metrics development.
  • Deliver metrics to the RTE on a reoccurring (weekly) basis.
  • Identify, track, and actively resolve impediments or blockers that hinder the team’s ability to meet Sprint goals.
  • Manage and track team capacity, sprint velocity, and burn-down charts using Agile lifecycle management tools.
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination and dependency management, especially when rolling out complex enterprise system upgrades or resolving break/fix activities.
  • Ensure that IT service delivery and cybersecurity compliance tasks are properly integrated into the Agile workflow.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability within the team.
  • Possess a strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and mentor highly technical engineers who may be new to Agile frameworks.
  • Be a collaborative partner capable of aligning team-level operations with the broader organizational vision defined by the program's RTE.
  • Be highly proficient in managing remote/virtual team dynamics, ensuring active participation and communication across multiple time zones.
  • Be able to quickly learn challenging IT and infrastructure concepts to better understand team impediments and technical debt.
  • Be comfortable operating in an ambiguous, "greenfield" environment to build and document standard Agile processes from the ground up.
  • Effectively function as a self-starter, identifying project risks, resource bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve team efficiency.
  • Have excellent presentation, oral, and written skills to facilitate effective interchanges with senior customer management, Product Owners, and technical staff.
  • Have a "can-do" attitude, be able to work in a very high-pace and dynamic enterprise IT environment and embrace change.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 4, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience, which may be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 2, or more, years of directly related experience acting as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Project Manager.
  • Must hold a current Agile certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)).
  • Must have experience using Agile management and collaboration tools (such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps) to facilitate remote and hybrid teams.
  • Must have experience applying Agile methodologies to IT operations.
  • Must have an active DoW Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain an active DoW Top Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Requirements:

  • Have an active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Have prior experience in Agile/Scrum practices within a technical team, ideally under the guidance of an RTE or Agile Coach.
  • Have experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), particularly in a DoD or government contracting environment.
  • Have a technical background or previous experience in System Administration, Network Engineering, or IT Service Management.
  • Have experience integrating ITIL methodologies (Change, Incident, Problem management) with Agile processes.
  • Have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Have familiarity with DoD cybersecurity processes, such as RMF, Secure Host Baselines, and DISA STIGs.
  • Have Advanced Agile certifications (e.g., A-CSM, PSM II, PMI-ACP, or SAFe Release Train Engineer).

This position is expected to pay $110,000 – $140,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position
