Job Description:

SAPA Transmission, a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contractor, is seeking a Mechanic to specialize in assembling, maintaining, and repairing tracked vehicle transmissions for the US Army. As a Field Service Representative (FSR), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, functionality, reliability, and performance of our transmissions. The (FSR) serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) at SAPA Transmission.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of transmission systems, ensuring all activities comply with industry standards and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, addressing and resolving inquiries, complaints, and concerns to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Track work through detailed logs and ensure timely issue escalation.
  • Conduct thorough transmission repairs by disassembling units, replacing faulty components such as seals, bearings, gears, valves, and then reassembling to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage field service inventory to ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available.
  • Provide on-call support for emergency repairs as needed.
  • Proactively take on additional responsibilities like transmission assembly and equipment maintenance to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • 5–10 years of experience as a mechanic or in a comparable role with similar responsibilities.
  • High knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other systems.
  • Proficient in utilizing hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers), precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and diagnostic equipment (pressure sensors, multimeters, power supply units).
  • Possesses a strong commitment to adhering to documented protocols and technical specifications (blueprints).
  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving and leadership.
  • Availability to travel, sometimes with little notice.
  • Proficient in using laptops for data entry, running diagnostic software, and accessing technical documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English across all mediums (written, verbal, and electronic).
