Job description

DevOps Automation Engineer Location: Augusta, GA (Onsite 5 Days/Week) Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance (Must be eligible for Top Secret/SCI) Certification Required: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 certification Overview We are seeking a highly motivated DevOps Automation Engineer to support the design, implementation, and optimization of automation solutions across enterprise infrastructure and application environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and modern cloud technologies. This role will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to automate deployments, improve system reliability, and enhance operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with government security requirements. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for consistent and repeatable deployments
Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes
Create and maintain scripts using Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or other scripting languages
Automate application deployment, configuration management, and system provisioning
Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and security teams to streamline operational processes
Support cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments
Monitor and improve the performance, availability, and scalability of automated systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation tools, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines
Implement security best practices and compliance requirements throughout automation workflows
Develop technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials
Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
Stay current with emerging DevOps technologies, automation frameworks, and industry best practices
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Active Secret Security Clearance
Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance
Current Security+ certification or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification
Experience with Terraform and Ansible in production environments
Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies
Experience designing, building, or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript
Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or container orchestration technologies
Experience with DevSecOps practices
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms
Experience supporting DoD, federal government, or highly regulated environments
