Job description

PROJECT MANAGER
About Imperial Construction
Imperial Construction is a 100% employee-owned commercial general contractor committed to elevating people, projects, partnerships, and communities. As an employee-owner, you’ll help shape our future while sharing in the company’s long-term success.
Position Overview
As a Project Manager, you’ll independently lead the planning, execution, financial management, and closeout of commercial construction projects. You may manage multiple projects or take responsibility for larger project scopes, depending on workload and project needs.
You’ll work closely with clients, Superintendents, Project Engineers, design teams, vendors, and trade partners to keep projects safe, organized, profitable, and on schedule. This includes managing project financials, schedules, procurement, documentation, risk, quality, and client communication from startup through warranty.
The right candidate will have experience managing commercial construction projects through the full project lifecycle, a strong understanding of project financials and scheduling, and the ability to resolve issues before they affect cost, quality, or schedule. This position also helps develop Project Engineers and junior team members through consistent coaching and day-to-day guidance.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead commercial construction projects from planning and startup through closeout and warranty
  • Coordinate with Superintendents to keep field operations aligned with project schedules, safety requirements, quality standards, and contract obligations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, design teams, vendors, trade partners, and internal project team members
  • Lead owner meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and internal project planning discussions
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, procurement activities, and long-lead material tracking
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, billings, and pay applications
  • Monitor project costs, committed costs, cash flow, forecasting, cost-to-complete, and gross margin
  • Identify project risks early, resolve issues proactively, and coach Project Engineers and developing team members

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant commercial construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience & Skills
  • Five or more years of commercial construction experience independently managing commercial construction projects from planning through closeout

  • Ability to develop, maintain, and evaluate project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change events, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders
  • Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making skills
  • Working knowledge of Procore, Acumatica, GC Pay, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and related construction technology
Preferred Experience

    • Municipal
  • Experience supporting preconstruction coordination, budgeting, logistics planning, or constructability reviews
  • Experience helping improve project management systems, workflows, or operating procedures
  • Experience mentoring Project Engineers or developing project management staff
Work Environment
  • On-site position based at Imperial Construction’s Weatherford office
  • Regular coordination with office and field teams across active commercial construction projects
  • Work involves managing multiple priorities, deadlines, project partners, and changing project conditions
  • Regular participation in client meetings, subcontractor meetings, project reviews, and jobsite coordination
Benefits & Perks
  • Company-paid employee medical and dental insurance after meeting eligibility requirements
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan after meeting eligibility requirements
  • 401(k) with 2% company match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Holidays
  • Free on-site gym
  • Professional training and development
  • Employee appreciation and team-building events throughout the year
  • Competitive compensation based on experience

Ready to Join Our Team?
