Position Summary
The Loan Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Market President and Lending Team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient processing of loan documentation, maintaining compliance with banking regulations, and delivering excellent customer service to clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to supporting a dynamic lending team in a community banking environment.
Qualifications & Skills
  • At least 3 Years of previous lending assistance experience required
  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of loan processing procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and banking software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion in handling confidential financial and customer information.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Processing & Documentation
  • Assist with completing loan applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all required documentation.
  • Assist in collecting and verifying financial information from borrowers.
  • Work closely with loan officers to maintain loan files and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Coordinate loan closings, including scheduling and preparation of required closing documents.
  • Ensure all loan files are properly documented and uploaded into the bank's loan processing system.
Customer Service & Communication
  • Act as a liaison between borrowers, loan officers, loan operations, and other departments to facilitate smooth loan transactions.
  • Provide timely updates to clients regarding loan status, outstanding requirements, and next steps.
  • Respond to customer inquiries professionally and efficiently, delivering a high level of service.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Assist the Market President and Lending Team with reporting, scheduling, and correspondence.
  • Maintain organized loan files, ensuring all required documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
  • Support loan officers in managing their pipelines by tracking deadlines, renewals, and outstanding items.
  • Assist with preparing reports for management, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all loan-related activities adhere to regulatory requirements, bank policies, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor loan documentation for accuracy and completeness to minimize risk exposure.
  • Assist in preparing reports for internal audits, compliance reviews, and external regulators.
