Join a control-focused trade services operations team within a global financial institution supporting complex international banking activity. This team plays a critical role in maintaining accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across trade finance processes, including Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, settlements, financing, commissions, and related workflow improvements. The environment is detail-oriented, collaborative, and process-driven, with close partnership across operations, product, technology, and business teams.

Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)

This is an onsite opportunity in Jersey City, NJ, supporting high-impact trade finance operations and process improvement initiatives. The role offers exposure to complex trade structures, system enhancement work, QA/UAT activity, and cross-functional collaboration across business, operations, and technology stakeholders.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Support end-to-end Trade Finance Operations processes across Import and Export Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections.
  • Analyze current-state workflows to identify gaps, efficiency opportunities, control improvements, and process standardization needs.
  • Assist with Letters of Credit activities including issuance, advising, confirmations, settlements, financing, and related operational support.
  • Partner with technology, product, and operations teams on trade finance platform enhancements, automation opportunities, and process changes.
  • Participate in QA and UAT activities, including test case preparation, test execution, issue tracking, and resolution support.
  • Ensure operational processes align with ICC rules, internal policies, risk controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain process documentation, SOPs, user guides, and change management materials.
  • Support invoicing, commission processing, daily accruals, syndicated Letter of Credit activity, and reporting needs.

Are you a proven trade finance operations professional ready to make an impact?

  • 10+ years of relevant operations experience preferred, with strong hands-on knowledge of Trade Finance Operations.
  • Strong experience with Letters of Credit and Documentary Collections is required.
  • Solid understanding of ICC rules, including UCP, URC, and ISBP.
  • Experience supporting Import and Export Letters of Credit, including issuance, advising, confirmations, settlements, and financing.
  • Background in process improvement, workflow optimization, operations analysis, or control enhancement.
  • Experience participating in QA/UAT for trade finance systems or operational platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, identify trends, and support operational decision-making.
  • High attention to detail, strong risk awareness, and comfort working in a high-volume, control-focused environment.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; Masterโ€™s degree preferred.
  • CDCS certification is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills and ability to collaborate across operations, technology, and product teams.
