Position Summary:

The Document Services Center (DSC) Supervisor is responsible for supervising all DSC roles in all offices and the Columbus Reception roles, including hiring, setting performance goals, holding staff accountable, documenting performance discussions, conducting and coordinating onboarding and training, and monitoring and balancing workloads using Freshservice data. The DSC Supervisor will coordinate projects and implement changes in DSC and Reception to meet the Firm’s operational objectives while maximizing resources. This position will develop the departmental plan for DSC, which includes procedures, goals, and implementation of guidelines for improved productivity, efficiency, and customer service.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the activities of the DSC and Columbus Reception to ensure the department delivers high-quality, timely work product in the most efficient manner. Utilize the Freshservice ticketing system and data to determine process improvements, staff productivity, staff training needs, etc.
  • Coordinate overall workflow and workload balancing for the department to meet deadlines.
  • Manage DSC staff in all offices. Manage Columbus Reception function and staff. Prepare and conduct performance discussions and train staff to enhance their knowledge of the department’s day-to-day operations and DSC protocols. Set performance goals and follow up with staff to assist in keeping on track. Motivate employees to achieve their goals. Approve Essential Time. Conduct interviews of prospective employees and onboard those selected. Document and manage disciplinary issues.
  • Assist all offices as needed with overflow work, larger projects, legal assistant vacations, and document-related issues. Ensure all workflow needs are being met firm wide.
  • Identify training needs of staff and engage with the appropriate resources to ensure training is delivered.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in the use of computer software through state-of-the-art training initiatives, such as Generative AI.
  • Facilitate programs and initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency and customer service.

  • Working knowledge of eFiling
  • Working knowledge of legal support applications and databases (Viewpoint, Summation, Magnum, or similar platforms)
  • Knowledge of Generative AI tools
  • Knowledge of existing Firm systems and procedures preferred

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in similar field.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required.
  • Legal office or word processing department experience required.

The expected pay scale for this position is $80,000.00-$95,000.00 and represents our good faith estimate of the starting rate of pay at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will depend on factors such as your qualifications, relevant experience, education, work location, and market conditions.
