Job Description
Position Summary
The Manager, Technology Management of Documents leads a software engineering team responsible for the company's global document management ecosystem, supporting the systems and services that process, store, retrieve, index, and publish business-critical documents across the enterprise. The role oversees a portfolio of legacy applications while driving a strategic transformation into a modern Azure-based document platform that will consolidate and ultimately replace the existing suite of systems.
This leader is accountable for delivering technical outcomes through an internal engineering team while partnering closely with third-party engineering organizations engaged in the platform modernization effort. While overall vendor delivery is managed through a broader leadership structure, this role is responsible for ensuring the internal engineering team provides technical guidance, architectural alignment, code review oversight, feature validation, testing support, and operational readiness throughout the development lifecycle.
A key focus of this role is leveraging cloud-native services, automation, and artificial intelligence to transform document-centric business processes, reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership, cloud modernization experience, vendor management skills, and a proven ability to lead teams through large-scale technology transformations while maintaining reliable support for critical business operations.

- Accountable for team commitments and delivery outcomes within assigned products, services, systems, or initiatives.

- Monitor operational health and support continuous improvements to team processes, quality, reliability, and effectiveness.
- Balance delivery expectations with long-term maintainability, operational stability, and employee well-being.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance and support informed decision-making within the team's area of responsibility.
- Ensure solutions align with established engineering principles, standards, and architectural direction.
- Partner with architects, technical leaders, and peer managers to evaluate technical approaches and trade-offs.
- Encourage adoption of effective engineering practices, automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Support the responsible evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies where appropriate.
- Participate in team code reviews.
- Participate in writing, testing, and shipping code.
- Demonstrate competency in AI tooling, understanding and utilizing agentic design patterns, etc.
Strategic Planning and Business Alignment
- Translate department and organizational priorities into actionable team goals and execution plans.
- Help team members understand how their work contributes to customer outcomes, business objectives, and technology strategy.
- Contribute to roadmap planning, prioritization activities, and execution discussions within assigned areas.
- Identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, customer experience, operational performance, or business outcomes.
- Use business context and stakeholder needs to guide team priorities and decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence
- Build productive working relationships with technology partners, business stakeholders, and peer leaders.
- Collaborate across teams to resolve dependencies, align priorities, and improve delivery outcomes.
- Communicate plans, progress, risks, and results with stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Facilitate constructive discussions and support shared decision-making across teams.
- Contribute to a culture of trust, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Improve product reliability and operational efficiency by reducing support incidents by at least 90% through system modernization, process automation, and the elimination of manual operational tasks. Champion the engineering principle of "Automate Everything: we don't touch production by hand" by implementing sustainable, automated solutions that minimize human intervention.
