At Element, a New Charter Company, we are seeking a remote Application Engineer, in other companies this person could hold the title of (Document Management Engineer, NetDocuments Application Engineer, ECM Application Engineer)) to build and migrate customer document management systems to NetDocuments using SQL-driven ETL.

This role supports a remote schedule aligned to 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. EST

In this role, you will partner with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements, own NetDocuments build-outs, and execute document migrations and ETL of the data. You will serve as a key technical resource, translating business and DMS requirements into effective system configurations and migration plans. You will also identify and resolve data, integration, and workflow challenges to support successful implementations.

To be successful in this role, you will own the end-to-end build and migration process, including ETL, document conversions or mergers, and work across multiple DMS instances. You will combine hands-on scripting and data skills with client-facing stakeholder management and requirements gathering. Success requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage complex technical work across project phases, and confidence working with clients to clarify needs and communicate solutions. You will balance technical execution with project ownership to keep implementations accurate and on schedule.

General job duties include:

  • Use ETL processes to migrate document management platforms, including OpenText eDOCS, iManage, P&M, and other DMS applications, to NetDocuments.

  • Own the creation, configuration, and migration of customer document management environments

  • Perform data manipulation using SQL, Oracle, and PowerShell, including data extraction, conversions, mergers, and migrations across multiple DMS instances

  • Gather client requirements and translate business needs into application designs, system configurations, and migration plans

  • Collaborate with peers to define DMS standards, implement best practices, and administer, optimize, and troubleshoot document management systems

  • Serve as a client-facing technical resource, providing guidance and resolving data, integration, configuration, and workflow challenges

  • Work across cross-functional teams and with Project Managers to support project execution, including accurate time and cost estimates

  • Manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality work on time, within budget, and according to project requirements

Required Experience:

  • Hands-on SQL or Oracle scripting experience, including the ability to work with complex data sets and support data extraction, transformation, and migration activities

  • Prior experience working with document management systems (DMS), including system design, configuration, build-out, or migration projects

  • Experience translating business and technical requirements into application designs, system configurations, and practical implementation plans

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot data, application, integration, and workflow issues throughout implementation and migration projects

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, gather requirements, and work effectively with clients, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with NetDocuments, OpenText eDOCS, iManage, P&M or comparable enterprise document management platforms

  • PowerShell scripting experience for data extraction, manipulation, conversions, automation, or document migration activities

  • Experience with ETL processes and tools used to migrate data and documents between enterprise applications or DMS environments, with P&M experience being a plus

  • Experience administering, configuring, optimizing, or troubleshooting document management systems in client-facing environments

  • Familiarity with software integrations and working across multiple application or DMS instances during complex migration project,

  • Experience working in a professional services or consulting environment where managing multiple client projects, deadlines, and competing priorities

Compensation:

The compensation is expected to start at $80,000. Our offer will be determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
